Norm and Anne Vexler opened Hampshire Gymnastics in the fall of 1974 after successful careers as gymnasts at the University of Massachusetts. Back when there was no spring floor, no pit, no computer system, they began teaching Valley kids at their first location across the street behind the gas station. In 1978, they built the current facility and in 1985, they added the upstairs and the pit. In the beginning, they did EVERYTHING! Pre-school, after school, team, tiny tots. Their kids (Aaron, Talya and Luke) grew up in the gym and began to love gymnastics as much as they did. Over the years, they fostered a love for gymnastics in their students and now, many of them bring their own children to the gym. Norm and Anne are transitioning into retirement as their daughter, Talya, takes over the business. They attribute their years of success to the following:
· Continuing education of competent, compassionate and professional staff · Detailed maintenance in a safe, clean and up to date facility · A long-term focus on customer relationships · Open communication and teamwork · Respectful and pleasant work environment for employees · Organization and attention to detail · Perpetual growth (personal, professional, organizational) · A belief that ALL children benefit from taking gymnastics Mission: Hampshire Gymnastics strives to provide a program that not only teaches safe and technically sound gymnastics, but also instills confidence, promotes fitness, and demonstrates a commitment to healthy child development. We teach gymnastics to give children a physical foundation for ALL SPORTS and for LIFE! |
